Turkish Airlines announcement regarding electronics ban
Dear participants, for those of you flying to the U.S. through Istanbul with Turkish Airlines, here is some useful information regarding the recently-implemented electronics ban:
Passengers, who prefer not to place their electronic devices in their checked baggage, can hand them over at the boarding gate for a safe and secure transportation. Transfer passengers will have to deliver their respective devices at the boarding gate in Istanbul. Laptops, tablets, and other electronics may be used until the boarding gate where they will be handed over. The devices will be tagged and handed back to their owner upon arrival at the destination by Turkish Airlines’ authorized staff. The airline will grant free of charge wi-fi services on U.S.-bound flights for passengers who choose to hand their electronic devices at the boarding gate instead of carrying them in their check-in luggage.
The only electronic devices other than mobile phones that passengers will be able to take with them on-flight are medical devices.
